Bishop visits St. Augustine of Canterbury School

Catholic schools of the Diocese of Metuchen celebrated Catholic Schools Week from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3. Bishop James F. Checchio visited St. Augustine of Canterbury School in the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, where pre-K students wore handmade replicas of the bishop’s hat, known as a “mitre,” which he wears during certain times at Mass. Checchio, back center, is joined by Fr. Robert Lynam, pastor; Sr. Mary Louise Shulas, principal; and young students, who are enrolled in St. Augustine’s early childhood program for preschoolers.
