North Indian performances set for May 19

Khushi Shah, 10, a 5th grader from East Brunswick performs traditional Indian dance as students, parents and faculty at Judd Elementary School in North Brunswick learn about different cultures during the school's first ever International Night, on Jan 25.

The South Brunswick Commission on the Arts will present An Afternoon of North Indian Music and Dance featuring a vocal performance by Avani Deshpande, a harmonium sola/accompaniment by Srikar Ayyalasomayajula, an Odissi dance performance by Barenya Das and Sheya Singha, a group dance performance by Rhythms NJ, and Tabla accompaniment from Saumitra Mungekar and Ramaseshan Parthasarthy from 3-4:30 p.m. on May 19 in the South Brunswick Senior Center, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Refreshments will be provided.

The event is free but donations will be accepted. All are welcome.
