Suspect charged with exposing himself in park behind South Brunswick Police Department

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – South Brunswick police charged a man with exposing himself in a park directly behind police headquarters on July 16.

At 7:20 p.m., police received a 911 call from two teenage girls reporting a man was exposing and pleasuring himself in Reichler Park, located off Route 522 West in the Monmouth Junction section of town.

Officers and detectives reportedly located the suspect, a 37-year-old Monmouth Junction resident, in a parked vehicle, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department. Witnesses indicated the man was walking around on his cell phone exposing himself prior to going back to his vehicle, according to the statement.

Detectives charged the man with two counts of criminal sexual contact and two counts of lewdness. He was released on a summons pending his first court appearance.

“There were a dozen people in the park at the time the incident took place. These two teenagers acted quickly to allow officers who were nearby to make the arrest,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said in the statement.

The case was investigated by Officer Kent English and detectives. Anyone with additional information should call Detective Tim Hoover at 732-329-4000, ext. 7469.
