SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A number of veterans shared stories, read poems and sang “God Bless America” during a special event held in South Brunswick to mark Veterans Day.

Mostly vets from the Vietnam War and from Brandywine Living at Princeton attended the Nov. 9 event at the Senior Center, which began with The Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilwoman Jo Hochman and including thankful remarks by Mayor Charles Carley, according to information provided by the Senior Center.

The annual event is coordinated by Caryl Greenberg, the Senior Center social worker. At 10:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, she runs a Veterans Support Group at the Senior Center; all veterans are welcome to attend.

The event was followed with lunch and patriotic music by the Jersey Chix.
