SOUTH BRUNSWICK -Officer Matthew Hagood and Officer Bruce Redfield responded to the La Mirage Motor Inn on Route 1 for an unconscious man in a motel room around 11:30 p.m. on June 1.
When the officers arrived they met the man’s girlfriend who said she found her 35-year-old boyfriend unconscious with foam coming out of his mouth, according to reports from the South Brunswick Police Department. Officers immediately administered two doses of naloxone and the man began to breathe normally and then woke up. He was taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.
This is the seventh case this year were officers have used naloxone to save a victims’ life.
“We will continue to take a comprehensive approach to the heroin problem, from our lifesaving efforts to enforcement and counseling. The officers did an excellent job in this case and saved this man’s life,” Police Chief Raymond Hayducka said in the statement.
