East Windsor Regional School District school board election results certified

When the last ballot was counted and certified, two incumbent school board members had fended off a challenge to keep their seats representing East Windsor on the East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education.

Incumbent school board members Christina “Tina” Lands and Colleen Murphy received 3,599 votes and 2,665 votes, respectively, to turn back a challenge by Jagruti Patel, who earned 2,411 votes.

The term is for three years.

The vote tallies were certified by Mercer County officials and released Nov. 19. The certified vote tallies included early voting, Election Day voting on Nov. 2, mail-in ballots and provisional ballots.

Incumbent school board members Robert Laverty and Jenna Drake were also re-elected to the school board in uncontested races.

Laverty earned 4,203 votes and Drake got 891 votes, based on the certified vote tallies.

Laverty was re-elected to serve a two-year term on the school board representing East Windsor, and Drake was re-elected to serve a three-year term representing Hightstown.

Seven of the nine seats on the school board are reserved for East Windsor residents, and two seats are earmarked for Hightstown residents.

Drake, Lands, Laverty and Murphy will be sworn into office when the school board reorganizes in January 2022.
