180 Turning Lives Around’s 2022 Annual Celebration: ‘That 70’s Night’

With a theme of ‘That 70s Night,’180 Turning Lives Around’s 2022 in-person annual gala, which raises vital funds for their support services for survivors and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault, will transport you back to the music and fashion of the 70’s through a night of fundraising, good vibes and recognition of three dedicated honorees.

180 Turning Lives Around (“180”) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence throughout Monmouth County, NJ. This inspiring organization empowers survivors and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault to find the courage and strength to turn their lives around. Their comprehensive support services are free and confidential, including: 24/7 hotlines, counseling, legal advocacy, emergency safe houses and art, play, drama & music therapy for children. Funds raised at the 2022 Annual Celebration will go towards continuing and expanding their activities and services 180 programs encompassing:

A rape care program

Sexual violence counseling at their new Family Justice Center

Education and advocacy on sexual violence prevention

School outreach related to safe dates and healthy relationships

A Youth Helpline

 

Also recognizing the 45th Anniversary of the founding of 180, the gala will take place on April 28th at The Riverhouse, Rumson Country Club in Rumson, NJ at 6:30 p.m. EDT, with a cocktail hour, light dinner fare, a live auction, and entertainment by The Elk Ward Duo and Brian Kirk & The Jirks, performing their ‘soulful’ “70’s Show.” Gala guests are invited to dress in 1970’s smart casual vintage fashion.

 

Through their engagement, involvement with 180, and direct service to the community, the honorees to be recognized at the event have gone above and beyond to support those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault:

Mary Ansell: Founder,Open Heart Yoga

Mary has supported 180 for over a decade and seven years ago, started providing weekly yoga instruction to families recovering from domestic violence and sexual assault at the 180 Safe House. Her non-profit yoga studio in Red Bank, NJ, donates a yoga package to a volunteer or recipient of a local charity or nonprofit organization for each package purchased.

Bob Fouratt: Partner,The Curchin Group

Bob has long supported and served on the 180 Board of Trustees for nine years, including four as President. The Curchin Group has hosted numerous fundraisers for 180 and Bob and his wife, Mary Eileen have been generous donors and advocates of 180’s mission.

Gary McGeddy: President of Crum & Forster

Gary and his company, Crum & Forster have generously sponsored events to benefit 180 while also donating financial support and service time through holiday gift card drives and wrapping presents for children staying in the Safe House
