A BIG EVENT FOR NJ BUSINESSES, RESIDENTS, AND RUNNERS
(MANALAPAN, NJ; July 10, 2024) – New Jerseyans will soon enjoy perhaps the biggest family-fun event in local history.
A brand-new event called New Jersey Run 4 Hope Half-Marathon will be a day of fun and food and games and prizes for the whole family. Here, restaurants and local businesses will be showcasing their wares and products, and popular radio personalities will be on hand. And New Jerseyans will have one final day to enjoy a great outdoor experience before winter..
The Half-Marathon will take place on Oct. 6, with an exhilarating 13.1-mile adventure starting at All American Ford in Old Bridge and ending at iPlay America in Freehold. Runners will experience scenic roads and landscapes along historic U.S. Route 9, past Revolutionary War battle sites and landmarks like Bruce Springsteen’s childhood home.
“This is a truly historic event, and a great platform for New Jersey charities like The Grace Foundation, Our Place To Play, and Jake’s Got This, and of course JAR of Hope” says Jim Raffone, Founder/CEO of JAR of Hope in Manalapan. “Our mission is to help children in need and families, and to give back to our community. And we’re expecting attendees and businesses from all over the state.”
In fact, business owners will stage a colorful Business Expo on Sept. 28, when runners pick up their race bibs for the following Sunday. And over 4,500 attendees are expected on these two Sundays.
The Half-Marathon will feature race accessibility for disabled athletes. And it offers New Jersey businesses and charities great exposure, with the chance to purchase 10-team race spots. Current sponsors include iPlay America, Orange Theory Fitness, Empower Nursing Solutions and Wegman’s.
“We have a team of twenty participating, and we’re all super-excited,” says Shannon Kulesa, Founder and “Head Mom” of Jake’s Got This in Jackson
The New Jersey Run 4 Hope Half-Marathon is a truly unique event where everyone wins…local kids, businesses, runners, and families out for a beautiful autumn day.
“Our charity – Our Place 2 Play – develops inclusive playgrounds in Freehold Township,” says Suzanne Caracappa, a physical therapist. “And after ten years, we’re now in the final phase of our first totally ‘inclusive’ playground. In fact, this event has already raised $3,000 for our playground for every child.”
This will be the last statewide outdoor event in New Jersey until next Spring. And it will be one that both participants and attendees long remember.
