Session 1 – April 12 at 1PM
This workshop will cover the following topics–
- Understanding New Jersey’s Sales & Use Tax
- Out – of – State Sales
- How to File and Pay Sales & Use Tax Returns
- Sales Tax for Online Businesses
* Session will run for about 2 hours.
Session 2 – April 14 at 1PM
This workshop will cover the following topics–
- How and When to Use Exemption Certificates
- Urban Enterprise Zones
* Session will run for about 1 hour.

Presented by Solange Pimentel and Mike Kovacs of the New Jersey Division of Taxation.
Solange provides training for Division employees and educates the public on personal and business taxes, and property tax relief programs. She began her career with the Division as a Call Center Agent in 2006 receiving extensive training in all New Jersey taxes. Solange is bilingual and staffed the Division’s Spanish speaking line, as well as, featured in the Division’s first ever Spanish YouTube video. Solange’s outgoing personality coupled with her extensive customer service skills and tax knowledge add great value to the Taxation University Team.
Mike creates the curriculum and materials for our internal training, plans our academic terms, does live instruction and speaking events, and handles special projects. Mike’s worked for the Division since 2003. He started in the Customer Service Call Center then moved to the Trenton Regional Information Center before joining Taxation University in 2013. His customer service background has given him a general knowledge of all tax types, both personal and business. His hands on experience and inventive ideas make him a valuable member of the Education and Outreach Unit.
