In the exhibition Release the Shame, Visually Impaired artist/choreographer Christopher “Unpezverde” Núñez and Neurodivergent artist Branden Wallace explore the complex concept of “shame,” and how it converges with themes such as sexuality, fear, learning processes, immigration and productivity in the lives of people with disabilities. Núñez and Wallace excavate from personal memory how prejudice towards Disability has had a profound impact on their artistic practices and their own self-perception. A conversation between the artists facilitated by Jerron Herman, will take place on September 6 at 7 p.m. with a reception following.
