• The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, 310 Mount’s Corner Drive, Freehold Township, will present Professor Maurice Mahler discussing the life and work of Jewish Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Clemente Modigliani at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 (snow date, 1 p.m. Feb. 24). • The Bimah Players Community Theater seeks actors, singers and musicians of all ages for “Fools Rush In,”  a play with music about love based on works by great classic and contemporary writers from Shakespeare and Chekhov to Matt Groening, creator of “The Simpsons.” It is a readers theater production so memorization is not required. • The Italian American Association of Monmouth County will host Carnevale, the Italian Mardi Gras festival, from 2-6 p.m. Jan. 31 at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club, Howell. The cost is $40 for adults and $22 for children ages 3 to 10. The cost includes lunch, music, dancing, masks and activities, in addition to an auction table and a 50/50 raffle. Costumes are optional. • Hilltop Swim Club, a nonprofit swim club on Clarksburg Road, Roosevelt, will offer a special payment plan for new members who join the club by the end of the year. Shares cost $600 and the cost will be spread over three years – at no interest– if the first payment is made by the end of 2015. Members are also required to pay annual dues of $575 in the spring. The club is limited to 75 shareholders. The 5-acre property includes an Olympic-size pool with a slide and diving board, a baby pool, changing rooms, a playground, and a barbecue grill. • The Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center at CentraState Medical Center is offering a support group for people with diabetes and their families. • The Allentown FFA Alumni will host its ninth annual gift auction and spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. March 19 at the Hope Firehouse, 82 County Road 526, Upper Freehold Township. Proceeds will provide students with opportunities to pursue careers in veterinary science, agricultural technology and mechanical systems, earth sciences, environmental science, horticulture, aquaculture and many other fields.
