Sayreville Library to begin computer classes Feb. 1

The Sayreville Public Library, Washington Road, will offer an upcoming series of computer classes for beginners who want to learn the basics. Sessions are open to adults only. Interested individuals may register for one or more classes.

“Microsoft Excel 2010 and 2013” is set for 6-8 p.m. Feb. 1. Participants will learn to create, edit and save spreadsheets and use basic formulas.

“Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 and 2013” will be offered 6-8 p.m. Feb. 8. Instruction will focus on creating and editing presentations and inserting images, animations and transitions.

“Microsoft Word 2010 and 2013” is planned for 6-8 p.m. Feb. 17. Lessons will include typing a letter, a résumé, a book, etc.

First preference will go to Sayreville patrons who have not taken the classes before. Students must know how to use the mouse, have a basic understanding of how to use the keyboard, have basic file-management skills, and know how to navigate to folders and files on a computer running Windows 7.
