Church to host Chili Cook-off contest

The Lincroft Presbyterian Church will host its annual Chili Cook-off contest from 5-8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at 270 Everett Road, Lincroft.

Proceeds will benefit 180 Turning Lives Around, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence in the local community. For more information, visit www.180nj.org.

Chefs are encouraged to enter their hottest chili. Judges will include Middletown Township Mayor Gerard Scharfenberger, a chef, a Lincroft firefighter and the general public who will judge the best entries. Blue ribbons and prizes will be awarded for first and second place along with a “people’s choice” award.

The admission fee is $10 per adult and $5 per child, with a $25 family maximum. Entry is free for chefs who bring chili. Hot dogs, chili condiments and toppings, salads, side dishes and desserts will also be available.
