Obesity increases risk of cancer and disease

There is a definite link between obesity and an increased risk for serious health problems, including cancer and chronic diseases. Approximately 37 percent, or more than one out of three American adults, are classified as obese, according to the National Institutes of Health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years. High levels of fat are linked to coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Obesity is also linked to an increased risk for cancers of the esophagus, breast (postmenopausal), endometrium (the lining of the uterus), colon and rectum, kidney, pancreas, thyroid and gallbladder.

In addition to placing additional strain on the heart, extra weight may contribute to osteoarthritis and joint deterioration. Every extra pound of fat you carry is the equivalent to four additional pounds of pressure on the lower back. It’s no surprise that obese individuals experience more back and joint pain, along with general aches, so they have greater difficulty losing weight. If you’re overweight and are not experiencing muscle and joint pain yet – wait!

Freedman Chiropractic Center works with adults and children to help them safely lose weight and reduce the risk of obesity-linked health problems. I lost 30 pounds in only six weeks while on our ChiroTHIN Weight Loss Program. Now I channel my weight loss experience into supporting patients with this safe and effective program at my office. I know first-hand how challenging it can be to lose weight, and I am hoping my weight loss journey can inspire others to take control of their health and get in shape today.

While individual results vary, ChiroTHIN Weight Loss Program clients at Freedman Chiropractic Center, LLC typically lose 20-35 pounds in only six weeks. This is achieved without drugs, exercise, hormones, prepackaged foods, shakes or bars. Instead, a combination of dietary guidance, nutritional supplementation and personal accountability are emphasized. Patients safely lose weight and maintain this weight loss by learning real world, long-term weight management techniques. For example, we show patients how to shop the local supermarket and prepare healthful meals at home that are low in sugar, fat, and reduce inflammation. Clients report having fewer cravings, increased energy and take fewer medications. The ChiroTHIN Weight Loss Program is more effective and is a fraction of the cost of nationally advertised weight loss programs.

Freedman Chiropractic Center, LLC provides specialty chiropractic and wellness care services to help patients achieve optimal health. Services include chiropractic care, Reiki, nutrition, purification, and the doctor supervised ChiroTHIN Weight Loss Program.
