The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of Somerset County from noon today, Wednesday, into Thursday.
The county’s Flood Information System issued a bulletin Wednesday morning. It said the weather forecast calls for about one inch of rain and the combination of rainfall and melting snow “will likely result in flooding of poor drainage areas, as well as moderate river flooding on Wednesday night and into Thursday.”
A weather “watch” is the step between an “advisory” and “warning.”
Warmer temperatures in recent days have melted much of the more than two feet of snow that fell Jan. 23-24.
