Church to host duo in concert Feb. 21

Flutist Marjorie Koharski and classical guitarist Dr. Keith Calmes will perform in concert at 3 p.m. Feb. 21 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, 3455 W. Bangs Ave., Neptune.

The duo will perform the works of Italian composers Vivaldi, Puccini and Martini as well as German composer Carl Blum and contemporary Argentine composer Marcelo Coronel. They will also premiere “Serenade,” a piece by local composer Tom Jones.

Koharski plays the flute with the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra and is the founder and director of The Festive Flutes, an ensemble of flute musicians. She is a member of several flute associations and teaches flute in her Neptune studio.

Calmes has performed as a soloist at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Recital Hall and the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of several guitar and string associations and teaches guitar at Wall High School.
