Sen. Christopher ‘Kip’ Bateman, Somerville
I am writing to support the historic district designation for the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood in Princeton.
Residents of Princeton have declared their support for this important designation and they are proud of the historical significance of this community and neighborhood. The architecture in the homes that have been preserved all these years illustrate a time in history, that when lost, cannot be replaced. This is a neighborhood that has survived and prospered through generations and has contributed to the diversity of Princeton and to New Jersey.
Princeton is one of our country’s most historic communities and the Witherspoon-Jackson neighborhood will be a significant addition to the abundant history of Princeton’s residents.
