Student sought to recite Gettysburg Address

The Old Bridge Village Heritage Center, Alice Appleby DeVoe Memorial Library Association, is looking for a student volunteer to recite Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address at 1 p.m. May 30 at the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) plot at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Old Bridge Turnpike, East Brunswick. The recitation will be part of the Memorial Day observance scheduled in the Old Bridge Village Historic District, East Brunswick.

All East Brunswick, Old Bridge and Sayreville students ages 10-14 are welcome to enter their names. A $100 U.S. Savings Bond will be awarded to the volunteer reader.

To be considered, a student should submit his or her name, age and contact information to OBVHC@outlook.com or www.facebook.com/SaveDeVoeLibrary by May 20. The selected student will be notified by May 23.
