Almeida is a Brazilian-born mixed-media artist who uses paint, collage and assemblage. He studied the old masters, including Brazilian painters from Aleijadinho to Weingärtner, and has forged his own style that evolved into a bridge of expressionism with pop art.

Throughout his current work, he depicts ravens to symbolize the struggles of early childhood. Each painting tells the story of his battle for freedom and the pursuit of happiness. The raven undergoes a metamorphosis, transforming into a dove.

In addition, small works by the Guild’s exhibiting and associate members will also be on display at the gallery. Admission and on-site parking are both free. For more information, call the Guild at 732-741-1441 or visit www.guildofcreativeart.org.
