Post 401 to hold Memorial Day service on May 30

Memorial Day Remembrance Services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 30 on the front lawn of the Lt. John Farnkopf American Legion Post 401, 148 Major Road, Monmouth Junction, near the water tower.

During the ceremony, two long-time members of the post will be recognized for their continuous membership: 99-year-old former Mayor Joseph Spataro for 70 years of service, and Ralph Boccanera for 50 years of service.

South Brunswick Mayor Frank Gambatese will speak. Gary Cooper, post commander, and Barbara Buhl, auxiliary president, will present the ceremonial wreath, which honors those who gave their lives in military service to the United States.

Music will be provided by the South Brunswick High School Band.

Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
