Shore’s Kelly named Region Defensive Player of the Year

Brookdale Community College sophomore defender Jack Kelly was named Defensive Player of the Year for Region 19 men’s lacrosse.

The Shore Regional High School graduate also took home All-Region and All-Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) honors.

Freshman attacker Sean Olsen (Old Bridge) joined Kelly on the All-Region and All-GSAC First Teams, while sophomore attacker T.J. Coleman (St. John Vianney) made the All-Region Second Team.

Olsen scored 70 points on 53 goals and 17 assists and had 19 goal and 11 assists for Brookdale.

The Jersey Blues lost to Ocean County College in the Region 19 semifinals. The Jersey Blues were the defending champions.

Brookdale completed the 2016 season with an 8-5 record.
