Traffic advisory posted for South Brunswick

South Brunswick Police are providing a traffic advisory notice due to events and construction that may impact travel around the township the next few weeks.

  • A Walkathon at Beechwoods Park will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on June 4. Approximately 50 participants will walk down Beekman Road to Route 27 and back to Beechwoods Park on the grass and sidewalks.
  • The Bike Ride for Amy will be on June 5. More than 50 bicyclists will be leaving South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road, at 8:15 a.m., traveling on Ridge Road through Schalks Crossing Road and Route 1.
  • South Brunswick Police will take part in the Special Olympics Torch Run on Route 130 and Route 27 on June 10. The torch run will have a dozen runners traveling south on Route 130 from the North Brunswick border to Cranbury Township from 6:30-8 a.m. Later in the day, the run will travel Route 27 south from the North Brunswick border to Princeton Township 4-6:30 pm.
  • The Viking Dash 2016 will begin at 3 p.m. on June 10, rain or shine, at South Brunswick High School. Additional pedestrian and vehicle traffic are expected around the high school during the event.
  • Brunswick Acres Elementary School will hold a DASH FOR DUCHENNE 2016 5K Walk/Run on June 11 to support one of their teachers, Kimberly Powers, whose 10-month-old son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular
  • Kingston Lane / Georges Road will be upgraded June 6-Aug. 15 to make the intersection compliant with the American with Disabilities Act. The project will involve improvements to the traffic signals, pedestrian crossing, pedestrian ramps, milling and paving of the roadway. Motorists should expect delays in the area during 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays.
  • Old Georges Road / Distribution Way / Route 130 will be milled, paved and stripped at Old Georges Road near Route 130 over the next two weeks. There will be local detours around the area.
