Police charge two with alleged heroin possession, distribution

EAST BRUNSWICK—Acting on information obtained over the course of several months, police have taken two alleged drug dealers off the street.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and detectives from the East Brunswick Police Department (EBPD) executed a search warrant on Aug. 24 for a residence located at 5 Dalston St. in the township. According to a press release issued by EBPD, the search warrant was the culmination of an investigation lasting several months.

Police reportedly apprehended Lazaro Ruiz and Samantha Miller, both residents of East Brunswick, during the incident. The pair has been charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin and distribution of heroin in a school zone.

In lieu of bail—$100,000 for Ruiz and $75,000 for Miller—both individuals are being held in the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center.
