Film chronicles life of an African Jew

Congregation B’Nai Tikvah will hold the premier New Jersey screening of the film “Mekonen: The Journey of an African Jew” at 8 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the temple, 1001 Finnegans Lane, North Brunswick.

Presented by First Lt. Eden Adler, who was Israeli Defense Forces Commander Mekonen Abebe’s commander in the 101st Paratrooper Brigade basic training, the film follows the backstory of Abebe, who returns to Africa to explore his roots and make peace with his past.
