East Brunswick police charge men with possession of a handgun

EAST BRUNSWICK — A motor vehicle stop in East Brunswick led police to charge two men with possession of a revolver and ammunition.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 7, Patrolman Patrick Lem stopped a 2003 Silver Hyundai Elantra on Arthur Street off of Route 18 north for a motor vehicle violation, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department.

A warrant check of the vehicle’s occupants —Marquan Parker, 22, and Julian Musa, 22, both of Plainfield — allegedly revealed that both had active warrants. The investigation and subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a Smith & Wesson .38 Special CTG revolver which was loaded with five Super Velocity .38 Special hollow-point bullets, police said.

Parker was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point bullets and certain persons not to have weapons (convicted felon). He was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center (MCACC) in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Musa was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point bullets and hindering apprehension. He was transported to the MCACC in lieu of $40,000 bail.
