Khamisi Glover of North Brunswick was awarded Sept. 12 for his outstanding effort with Elmira College Athlete of the Week honors.

Glover played a pivotal role for the men’s soccer team in Elmira’s road victory, 2-1, over Hilbert College in a non-conference matchup Sept. 10 — the first win on the young season for the Soaring Eagles. The second-year defenseman played the entire 90 minutes on Elmira’s back line, helping to limit the opposition to only one goal. He was also awarded a penalty kick in the fifth minute, which he converted, setting the tone early in the contest and giving the Purple and Gold a 1-0 advantage. For Glover, the tally was the first of his collegiate career.

The North Brunswick native made 17 appearances during his rookie campaign in 2015, including eight starts. Glover recorded his first career point with an assist in a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher College.
