Red Bank’s annual Halloween celebration will take center stage on Oct. 23.

On that date the borough will hold its 69th annual Halloween Parade, an event that is expected to attract citizens of all ages — and costumes of all makes, too.

This traditional event, which is sponsored by the borough’s Department of Parks and Recreation, will be launched at 1 p.m. when the parade’s line up and costume judging begins at the corner of East Bergen Place and South Street in the heart of Red Bank.

The parade marchers will then take off at 2 p.m. and will travel north on Broad Street, then west on White Street and continue to the White Street parking lot for the day’s celebration party. The first 500 children will receive goody bags.

During the party, prizes will be awarded for best costumes by ages, best small group and best pet costume. A variety of activities will also be provided for youth education and entertainment, according to borough officials.

Inclement weather will not spoil this celebration — a rain date has been determined and will be used on Sunday, Oct. 30, if needed.

For more information, contact the Red Bank Parks and Recreation office at 732-530-2782 or email CHoffmann@redbanknj.org.
