An Eatontown resident and a home health aide was one of eight winners when Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services (PHHC), a company that provides home care in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, held its awards ceremony at the 2016 Home Health Aide Recognition Day in October at the Sheraton Eatontown Hotel.
The Home Health Aide of the Year is awarded to certified home health aides (CHHAs) who have demonstrated excellence, leadership and compassion throughout their careers at their individual branch office locations.
One of the five winners of the CHHA of the Year from Preferred was Anna Blaine of Eatontown.
The other CHHAs of the Year from Preferred were Shamese Scott, Toms River; Christiana Owens, Mount Laurel; Angeline Despagne, Robbinsville; and Beverly McPherson, South Orange.
Rookie of the Year awards are given to individuals who have been CHHAs for less than two years, but have already exhibited excellence and growth in their role. PHHC’s Rookie of the Year awards went to Khadija Potts, Galloway; Christian Oppong, Robbinsville; and Joan Comas, Galloway.
“Our hard-working and caring home health aides represent Preferred so well in the community. They provide quality care to many clients and families in need, and we are all very proud to recognize them,” said Jonathan Herman, chief operating officer of PHHC.
Each honoree received an award and a keepsake book with tributes about the contributions home health aides make in the care and safety of their clients. Home health aides provide support and personal services, such as helping clients with bathing, dressing and eating. They adhere to professional standards and maintain a safe, secure and healthy client environment by following federal, state and local requirements.
