The North Edison Library, 777 Grove Ave., Edison, will celebrate giving at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Giving Tuesday was created when two organizations, the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation came together in 2012, about a month before that year’s Thanksgiving. Their intention was to set aside a day that was all about celebrating the generosity of giving, a great American tradition. Children will be read picture books that promote the art of being generous not only with funds and things, but with time. Learn about the art of “Paying it Forward.” Stories, craft and a film will be featured.
