The Manalapan Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee would like to thank the News Transcript for the article recognizing the work that was done in Manalapan for our veterans.

The spotlight you put on the rededication of the veterans memorial and the dedication of the new Veterans Walk of Honor brought the biggest turnout of veterans to date.

This year we honored Korean War veterans. Last year we honored World War II veterans and next year we will honor Vietnam War veterans.

It was a project all volunteers took pride in. When local businesses were asked to support our efforts, they were more than willing.

We would like to acknowledge some of those businesses that were left out of the original article: Kevin’s Waterproofing and Landscaping (walkway with commemorative pavers); Creative Design (sitting wall); Anchor Concrete (blank paver bricks); Reed and Perrine (landscaping materials and blank pavers); Bagel World; Ray Catena Lexus; Suez Water (Korean War baseball caps for Korean War veterans); Wegmans (memorial wreath); Dunkin Donuts, Route 33, Manalapan (donuts and muffins).

This project is a perfect example of dedicated residents working with local businesses in completing a worthwhile project for our community. Thank you again.
