Sendoff to Pearl Harbor set for MTHS marching band

The Marching Falcons of Monroe Township High School (MTHS) will be ambassadors for the state of New Jersey and the veterans of the USS New Jersey in the 75th anniversary Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade set for Dec. 7 in Hawaii. The Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade Committee selected the marching band and color guard for the honor.

The community is invited to a sendoff event scheduled for 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Monroe Township High School PAC, 200 Schoolhouse Road. The Monroe Township Music Parents Association is organizing the event.

Mayor Gerald Tamburro and various school and government officials will speak at the event. Guests will include members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post, American Legion Post No. 522 and a veteran who served on the USS New Jersey.
