Tickets on sale for high school state wrestling tournament

Tickets went on sale Dec. 9 for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s state wrestling tournament that will be held March 3-5 at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

All-session tickets are priced at $40 and are on sale through Ticketmaster (https://goo.gl/JWkmYz), the Boardwalk Hall Box Office or by phone at 800-745-3000. This public sale will be limited to 10 tickets per order. Single-session reserved tickets will be priced at $10 and will go on sale Jan. 27 at 12 p.m.

Group sales for all-session tickets will also be available for orders consisting of a minimum of 11 tickets and a maximum of 50 tickets per order. A $4 service charge per ticket will be added to group sales purchases. Group tickets can be purchased by calling 609-348-7023 or e-mailing aura_sanchez@comcastspectacor.com.

Senior citizens (65 and older), children (2-12) and students with a valid grade school or high school ID are eligible for a $2 ticket. These can be purchased beginning March 3 and through the weekend of the event. These discounts are available exclusively at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office with a valid ID.

The competition begins at 2:30 p.m. March 3 for the preliminary and pre-quarterfinal rounds. On March 4, the competition starts at 9 a.m. for the first, second and third rounds of wrestlebacks and  the quarterfinals. Following the morning session, Boardwalk Hall will clear the facility and re-open doors at 5 p.m. for the  evening session of the semifinals and the fourth and fifth rounds of wrestlebacks. Those rounds will begin at 6 p.m.

On March 5, wrestling begins at 10 a.m. for the wrestlebacks and the consolation rounds. The awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m and the state championship round is expected to start by 2:30 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to each session.

The road to Atlantic City begins Feb. 17-18 when the 32 district tournaments are wrestled. The eight regions will be wrestled Feb. 22, 24 and 25, leading to the state tournament March 3-5.
