Emma Boslet of the Bishop George Ahr High School girls’ basketball team continued her torrid scoring pace by scoring 17 points in the Trojans’ 44-22 victory over Marlboro High School Dec. 27. The freshman has been the high scorer in every game this season for Bishop Ahr (4-1).

Bianca Newsome scored 17 points to help the Edison High School girls’ basketball team edge Bernards High School, 51-50, Dec. 27. After a season-opening loss to East Brunswick High School, the Eagles have won three straight to improve to 3-1.

Lou Ceras, a heavyweight wrestler for Monroe Township High School, has recorded three pins in his five victories to begin the season. The senior, who qualified for the NJSIAA Regionals last year, has not lost a match.

Danny Flaherty, a senior for the Metuchen High School boys’ basketball team, scored a season-high 23 points to help the Bulldogs edge West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, 61-60, Dec. 28. Flaherty is Metuchen’s leading scorer with 16 points per game.

Jack Karvaski, Edison’s heavyweight wrestler, is off to a strong start to the season with four pins in his first four matches.

Dylan O’Connor, Bishop Ahr’s 132-138 pound wrestler, is 6-1 with two pins and placed first at 138 at the Nottingham High School Tournament.
