Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy is due in town Saturday morning to meet with high-ranking Princeton Democrats, as the frontrunner looks to build support for what he hopes is a winning campaign., Party officials confirmed on Friday the meeting between Mr. Murphy and the executive board of the Princeton Community Democratic Organization, the local club of the Democratic Party. He is due to appear at the home of Peter Lindenfeld sometime around 10 a.m., said Councilwoman Jo S. Butler., Mr. Murphy, 59, is a former Goldman Sachs executive and later U.S. Ambassador to Germany, from September 2009 to August 2013. Announcing his candidacy last year, he supports raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, mandating paid sick leave, favoring gun control, having a constitutional amendment mandating state payments to the pension system, building more affordable housing, among other policy agenda items that will likely endear him to voters in a staunch Democratic town like Princeton., Party chairwoman Scotia W. Wisniewski, (D-19) is due to meet with PCDO executive board Feb.4, Ms. Butler said., The PCDO will endorse a candidate for governor.
