EAST BRUNSWICK – The East Brunswick Police Department (EBPD) has received a report of a white commercial work van approaching juveniles at bus stops in town.

The driver of the van reportedly offered a juvenile a ride home around 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the section of East Brunswick known as the “President Streets” off of Old Stage Road, according to information provided by the EBPD.

The van was described only as a white work van with no visible markings and possibly New Jersey registration. The driver was only described as being a male, no age or race, according to police.

Although another incident had initially been reported around 6:40 a.m. on Feb. 21 in the area of Dunhams Corner Road and Valley Forge Drive, police confirmed on Feb. 23 that there was no attempted luring. The investigation revealed that the suspect in question is a local resident who is new to the area and was looking for his child’s new bus stop.

Police are still conducting increased directed patrols of area neighborhoods. Anyone who observes the white van is asked to contact the police immediately.
