• On April 9, folk musician John Gorka will perform in concert at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Road, Allentown. • CentraState Healthcare Foundation will host the eighth annual “Paulette’s C of Blue Run/Walk” on May 7 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. The outdoor event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a 5K, 1-mile and children’s fun run in addition to food, music, awards and local vendors. • The Monmouth County Park System is looking for lifeguards, camp counselors, park and golf course maintenance workers, and other seasonal employees. • The Millstone Township Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary will host a spring rummage sale on April 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Millstone firehouse, 461 Stagecoach Road. • The Allentown Shade Tree Advisory Committee will celebrate Arbor Day on April 8 by giving away free tree seedlings. The event will take place at Farmer Park, 1 Lakeview Drive, Allentown, starting at 9 a.m. The seedling distribution is done in conjunction with the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign to replace trees lost during superstorm Sandy and other storms. Shade Tree Advisory Committee members will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about tree planting and care.

• Millstone Township residents may drop off non-commercial electronic items such as keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners, televisions, copiers, cameras, stereo components, etc. from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 22 at the Department of Public Works, 899 Perrineville Road. • In celebration of National Library Week, April 9-15, the Allentown Public Library introduces its next One Town/One Book title, “News of the World,” a novel by Paulette Jiles. This is a tale of quiet courage set in post-Civil War Texas. The book will be available at the library beginning April 9. Two book discussion sessions will be hosted at the library on May 9, at 10:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m. All are encouraged to attend.

• The MOMS Club of Millstone Township is hosting a free community egg hunt at 10 a.m. (rain or shine) April 15 at Wagner Farm Park, Baird Road. Refreshments and children’s activities. Bring a camera for photos with the Easter Bunny.

• The spring sessions of Dancing by the Peddie Lake with Candace Woodward- Clough, offering instruction in swing, foxtrot, waltz and Latin dancing, will be held at 112 Etra Road, Hightstown. • New Egypt Day will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 20 in Plumsted Township. Festivities will take place on Main Street and Evergreen Road. Admission is free. A $6 per child wristband is required for unlimited access to children’s activities listed above. • The Upper Freehold-Allentown Municipal Alliance will host Bike Night 2017 on June 7. All makes and models of motorcycles are welcome. American and metric bikes will be present. • The Monmouth County Park System will host demonstrations of a 19th century grist mill at Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold Township, from 1-4 p.m. April 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. There is no cost to attend the demonstration.

• See master craftsman Tom Kelleher create a wooden bucket using centuries old techniques and tools at Historic Walnford, Walnford Road, Upper Freehold Township, from noon to 4 p.m. April 22-23. There is no cost to attend the demonstration.

• Millstone Township will hold its 11th annual town-wide stream cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon April 22. All are welcome to attend. The Millstone Township Environmental Commission and the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association sponsor the cleanup. Wear long pants and boots. An adult must accompany children. • The Allentown Public Library will host Trivia Night at 7 p.m. April 22 at the Allentown First Aid Squad building, Waker Avenue. This fundraising event is open to all. • The Millstone Community Garden has plots available for 2017. A plot costs $25. Community plots for vegetables and fruit donated to local food banks are tended by the Master Gardeners of Monmouth County and community gardeners. Last year more than 650 pounds of fresh vegetables was donated to the Millstone Food Pantry and to the Open Door Food Pantry in Freehold. Volunteers are welcome. The garden is at 211 Millstone Road and is sponsored by the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone (gardeners do not have to be a member of the church). • Brookdale Community College will present its annual guitar show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 30 in the Brookdale Recreation and Events Center, Lincroft.
