The Edison Public Library Foundation will present Martha Washington played by Alisa Dupuy in the continuing series “An American Tale” at 6:30 p.m. on May 3 at the main branch of the Edison Public Library, 340 Plainfield Ave.

Martha Washington was held in high esteem in her time for the funds she raised for the American Revolution and the support she provided the troops. History favored her by putting her image on silver certificates in the 19th century. She was the only female on paper currency in the United States. Light refreshments will be served and Dupuy will be available for questions after the program.
