JACKSON – Police are asking anyone who has information about an incident that occurred in the Luxury mobile home community off Toms River Road (Route 571) just after midnight May 4 to contact them.

Sgt. Christopher Parise, the Jackson Police Department’s public information officer, said officers were conducting an investigation at the mobile home community when they heard gun shots coming from an adjacent street, Coleman Way, in the community.

The officers responded to Colemen Way and found residents outside their homes. After speaking with the residents, a description of a male suspect and vehicle possibly involved in the incident was obtained, according to Parise.

A short time later, representatives of Community Medical Center, Toms River, contacted the police department and indicated they had a shooting victim in their emergency room. The victim was identified as a 22-year-old male from Neptune. He was treated and later released with an abdominal wound, police said.

While checking the area of Coleman Way, officers found several .40 caliber shell casings on the ground. The officers identified a mobile home, which was occupied, that had one round which penetrated the home’s exterior wall, according to Parise.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Jackson Police Detective John Rodriguez at 732-833-3008 or to leave information on the police department’s tip line at 732-833-3032.
