Owner charged with selling drugs out of convenience store

EAST BRUNSWICK – A 26-year-old Monroe man has been charged with selling drug-related items out of a convenience store.

On May 18, the East Brunswick Police Anti-Crime Unit and members of the Investigative Division executed a search warrant at Pit Stop, 234 Old Stage Road, after a two-month investigation.

The shop owner had allegedly been selling marijuana, edible marijuana gummies, THC cigars, THC vapes and hashish wax out of the convenience store, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department.

The man was charged with multiple counts of possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute a CDS and distribution of a CDS in a school zone.

During the course of the investigation, he was also allegedly found to be in possession of a stun gun.

In addition to $3,300 cash seized, approximately $5,000 worth of marijuana, THC oils, edible marijuana gummies and hashish wax was seized as was approximately $10,000 worth of drug paraphernalia, according to police reports.

During the execution of the search warrant, two individuals, a 19-year-old from Parlin and a 19-year-old from North Brunswick were charged with possession of marijuana while in the parking lot of the convenience store, police said.
