HOWELL – The Howell Library, Old Tavern Road, will host an architecture drawing program for teenagers from 6:30-8 p.m. July 5.

Library administrators said, “This relaxed program poses simple architectural activities/challenges in a fun and interesting way. If you love drawing buildings and cities, or planning a park, this is for you.

“Teens will be given samples of various architectural scenarios such as bridges, airport buildings, city squares and city street lights and challenged to complete the picture with their own innovative designs and creative solutions.”

The program is for young people in grades six through 12. Registration is required at the link provided on the Monmouth County Library calendar under the event.

Veronica Stevens, coordinator of young adult programming for the Monmouth County Library System, said, “In this program we will be providing teens with examples of various aspects of design a real architect would be dealing with.

“The teens will get a drawing example of a building, a park, a dam, etc. and then it is up to their creativity and design ideas to create their own. This is a low-key program I think teens will enjoy. It will certainly expose them to the world of architecture and a bit of what it would entail,” she said.

The library will provide drawing supplies. Participants will learn about perspective and easy drawing techniques to create their designs. For more information, call 732-938-2300.
