Storytime, STEM and play at Monroe Public Library

Starlight Express, an alternative to daytime storytime, will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings in September for children ages 3-5 at the Monroe Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe.

Stay and Play, a half-hour storytime followed by open play, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 6 and 20, and Mondays, Sept. 11 and 25, for children ages 2-4.

Stories and STEM, a program for children to explore early science, technology, math or engineering topics through literature and hands-on experimentation, will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 for children ages 6-8. Stories and STEM for children 18-36 months will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 21, and Stories and STEM for children ages 3-5 will be held 10 a.m. Sept. 21.

Meet children’s author Tara Lazar at 7 p.m. Sept. 18. She will read from her books “Normal Norman,” “7 ate 9” and “Little Red Gliding Hood,” answer some questions and do a craft. For children ages 5 and up.
