Colts Neck

Colts Neck High School looks to kickstart its offense when it plays against Long Branch High School on Sept. 23. The game will kick off at 12 p.m. in Colts Neck.

Colts Neck dropped to 0-2 on the season after it fell to Freehold Township High School, 14-0, on the road on Sept. 15.

The Cougars had lost their season opener in a 34-6 defeat to Howell High School on Sept. 9.

Freehold

Quarterback Ashante Worthy exploded with a superb game, but Freehold High School could not stop Howell, 55-35, this past weekend.

The exciting Worthy racked up 338 yards rushing and four touchdowns while he passed for 286 yards and a touchdown in the game on Sept. 15 in Howell.

Freehold, which had started the season on Sept. 9 with a 46-20 victory over Freehold Township, will be the host to Neptune High School on Sept 23 at 1 p.m.

Freehold Township

Quarterback Nick Reardon threw for two touchdowns to guide Freehold Township past Colts Neck, 14-0, at home on Sept. 15.

The victory enabled the Patriots to rebound from their season-opening defeat to Freehold, 46-20, on Sept. 9.

The Patriots are scheduled to visit Marlboro High School on Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.

Howell

Howell moved to 2-0 when it knocked off Freehold at home, 55-35, on Sept. 15.

Howell quarterback Edwin Morales threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Nick Chambers rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns to guide the Rebels past Freehold. The defense did its part by intercepting four passes, including two picks that were returned for touchdowns.

Howell, which beat Colts Neck, 34-6, on Sept. 9, will be home in its showdown against Middletown High School North on Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m.

Manalapan

Manalapan High School rung up its second shutout victory in as many games when the Braves pitched a 35-0 victory at Southern Regional High School on Sept. 15.

The Manalapan attack was sparked by back Naim Mayfield, who rushed for 152 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Manalapan, which had rolled past Marlboro High School, 44-0, in the opener on Sept. 8, clashes with Old Bridge High School on Sept. 23. The game will start at 1 p.m. in Manalapan.

Marlboro

Marlboro dropped to 0-2 on the year after it was dealt a 27-20 defeat by Pinelands Regional High School at home on Sept. 16.

Back Evan Burton ran for 244 yards and three touchdowns to lead Pinelands.

The Mustangs, who lost to Manalapan, 44-0, on Sept. 8, will look to rebound when they host Freehold Township on Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
