Jackson will auction off surplus items

JACKSON – The Jackson Township Council has authorized the sale of surplus motor vehicles and other miscellaneous property that is no longer needed for public use. The auction of the items will be conducted online.

According to a resolution passed by the council, Jackson was previously approved to participate in the E-Procurement Program which allows the township to procure and to dispose of certain goods and personal property in a more cost-effective and efficient manner, such as online auctions.

The township is in possession of a surplus of various motor vehicles and other properties, including properties that have been obtained by the Jackson Police Department. These properties are no longer needed for public use, according to the resolution.

The online auction will be sponsored by USGovBid/Auction Liquidation Services (www.usgovbid.com).

The council will decide which surplus motor vehicles and miscellaneous properties will be made available through the online auction. The auction will commence at 9 a.m. Sept. 23 and end at 6 p.m. Sept 28.
