South River borough council reelects incumbent candidates

SOUTH RIVER Incumbent Republican candidates James Gurchensky and John Sapata have been reelected to the Borough Council.

Four candidates ran for two available seats on the council.

Gurchensky and Sapata faced first-time candidates Ruell Brown and Sandra Adelino, who are Democrats, for the three-year terms.

On Nov. 7, Gurchensky won 26 percent of the votes winning 1,445. Sapata won 25 percent of the votes winning 1,378. Adelino won 25 percent of the votes winning 1,375. Brown won 24 percent of the votes winning 1,335, according to the Middlesex County website.
