Democrat Wil Borkowski, who is serving as the council president in 2017, received 366 votes, and independent candidate Thomas Monahan received 336 votes.

Borkowski has served on the council since January 2015. His term will end on Dec. 31.

As of Nov. 13, the results of the election had not been certified by the county clerk. Mail-in ballots had been processed, but provisional ballots were pending. The results are not official until they are certified by the county.

Anthony has lived in Allentown for 19 years. She joined the council in 2012 and won a second term in 2014. Anthony will begin serving her third term in January.

She has said there are many issues to address during the next three years, including infrastructure issues related to parking, traffic problems, controlling taxes and continually updating the borough’s technology.

Elder and his family have lived in Allentown for 42 years. He has said he will seek to preserve the remaining open space on Allentown’s borders; assure the borough is affordable for all its residents; improve pedestrian/traffic safety; expand parking availability in the business district; and restore fiscal responsibility.
