Ambassador award will honor members of New Jersey’s education community
The New Jersey Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma is accepting nominations for the 2018 Ambassador Award to honor New Jersey’s education community.
Teachers, educational administrators and professional staff from public, private, charter and religious schools; as well as educational programs and school organizations can be nominated. Nominations due Feb. 20.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 19 at the Ramada Plaza Conference Center, Forsgate Drive, Monroe.

Pianist to make debut at Saint Mary Church in South Amboy on Feb. 18
Pianist Carolyn Enger will make her debut performance at Saint Mary Church, 256 Augusta St., South Amboy, with a concert at 4 p.m. Feb. 18.
She is known for interpretation of the works of Beethoven and Schubert as well as contemporary music. Her programs range from European masterworks to fresh discoveries.
A Meet-the-Artist reception will follow the concert.
Free admission, but a $15 donation is suggested.

Sayreville Rec hosts trip to see ‘Beautiful’ on Broadway
The Sayreville Recreation Department is holding a bus trip to see the Broadway play “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical” on March 3.
Tickets are $150 each, which include round trip transportation to and from New York. The bus will leave at noon from the Sayreville Civic Center (Mickey Sedlak Recreation Center), Dolan Street, Sayreville, for a 2 p.m. matinee. The bus will depart New York at 7:30 p.m.
