Temple Emanu-El to present Tot Shabbat, Shabbat Alive during April

Temple Emanu-El will hold a series of programs and events in April.

Tot Shabbat, an age-appropriate Friday evening Shabbat program for children up to six years old, which also includes a Jewish-themed craft session, will be held at 6 p.m. on April 20.

Rabbi Daniel Freelander, president of the World Union for Progressive Judaism and former vice president of the Union for Reform Judaism, will be part of the Diana S. Herman Scholar in Residence program. The program begins at 9 a.m. on April 21 with a Torah study followed by a 10 a.m. Shabbat service. Sessions on “Jews Move: The surprising picture of where Jewish communities are being created and why” and “Why Temples Look the Way They Do” continue after the service until 2:30 p.m., including free lunch. RSVP required.

Shabbat Alive! with a three-piece band will be held at 7 p.m. on April 27.

Bingo players are invited to play on April 28. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., games begin at 8 p.m. Prizes include handbags and power tools. Refreshments will be available for purchase, no outside food or drink permitted. Must be 18 years old to attend. Cost is $35 per person, or $30 if paid by April 15.
