South River council appoints new borough clerk

SOUTH RIVER–The South River Borough Council appointed Bill Bray as the borough’s new clerk.

The council approved the resolution during its June 11 council meeting. Bray will receive an annual salary of $84,000 effective July 16, according to the council agenda.

Current Clerk Patricia O’Connor has served the borough for 10 years. Her last day before retirement will be July 24.

The council also approved a resolution to appoint Grace Marmero and Associates, LLP, as the borough prosecutor for a period from April 1 to Dec. 1. The chief financial officer has certified the availability of funds in the amount of $10,875 for the prosecutor, according to the council agenda.

In other news, the council approved a resolution appointing Tamar Lawful as the new deputy clerk with an annual salary of $60,000, effective July 2.
