Jackson council rejects bids for two projects

JACKSON – The Jackson Township Council has rejected all bids in regard to two proposed roof restoration projects.

On Sept. 11, council members voted unanimously to reject all bids received for the following projects: Roof Restoration – Mechanic Shop and Roof Restoration- Justice Complex.

For the Roof Restoration – Mechanic Shop project, the following bids were received: VMG Group, $63,000; Roof Management Inc., $87,000; Safeway Contracting Inc., $102,600; Patriot Roofing Inc., $109,000; Northeast Roof Maintenance, $115,000; and JDS General Contracting Inc., $125,500.

For the Roof Restoration – Justice Complex project, the following bids were received: Roof Management Inc., $67,000; VMG Group, $84,000; Patriot Roofing Inc., $89,000; G.C. Dynatech Construction LLC, $92,000; JDS General Contracting Inc., $93,300; Safeway Contracting Inc., $102,500; and Northeast Roof Maintenance, $156,000.

Veronica Dingle, Jackson’s purchasing agent, asked the council members to reject all the bids because the lowest bid for each project substantially exceeded the appropriation for that project.
