Leonard Lance takes care of the people in his district. Just after the presidential election in 2016, the President-Elect held cabinet interviews at his golf course in Bedminster Township and we quickly learned what would be asked of local law enforcement when the new president stays in New Jersey. Our staff in Bedminster quickly tried to estimate how much extra security would be asked of the Bedminster Police Department, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, and how much that could cost. Within weeks we were working with Congressman Lance’s office to seek federal funds so as not to unduly impact the taxpayers of Bedminster and Somerset County and we had a proposal before the end of December.

Over the next few months, Congressman Lance kept us abreast of progress on potential funding. The president’s first visit to Bedminster was in May 2017. Within hours of that visit, the House of Representatives passed a bill ensuring Bedminster, New York City and Florida were funded for the extra security required for past and future presidential visits.

Congressman Lance made sure the people of his district did not have to reach into their pockets to fund these visits. Leonard Lance takes care of the people in his district.
Please join me in voting for Leonard Lance to represent New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District on November 6.
